Lucy Liu was born in the US. She is an American singer, actress and voice-over artist. In addition to being a beautiful and intelligent actor, Lucy Liu acts as a role-model for several Asian actors who are in Hollywood that want to be successful. An array of highly successful initial appearances in popular television series made her well-known for her part in the character in Ally McBeal, where she played Ling Woo. In the wake of her success, she landed significant roles on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). Then, she gave an an excellent acting performance on Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime-lord O Ren Ishii. At the same time she was also in box-office flops like Rise: Blood Hunter. Then, she was able to voice prominent characters in animated films like Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's role on the small screen in Cashmere Mafia did not produce any results. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland helped re-establish herself as an established actress.
