Rosalia

Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. [7][8] Born and raised in the suburbs of Barcelona She has been described as an "atypical pop singer" because of her genre-bending music styles. She was fascinated by Spanish folk music when she was just 13 years old. She studied musicology at Catalonia College of Music and was also a wedding singer. Reimagining flamenco through mixing it with hip hop and pop music, the project produced the hit singles "Malamente" and "Pienso en the Mirror" that caught the interest of the Spanish general public and released to widespread critical acclaim. El Mal Querer was the first to introduce Rosalia to the international music stage. Rosalia was a pioneer of urban music in her albums of 2019 "Con Altura", and "Yo x Ti Tu x Mi", was a global hit. Her third studio album Motomami (2022) gave reggaeton an innovative sound that was moving away from the flamenco-inspired style. It featured two singles "La Fama,"" and "Saoko" The album became a huge success worldwide and was named the top-rated album of the year by Metacritic. Over the course of her career, Rosalia has accumulated ten number-one singles in her home country, which is a record for a local artist. The singer has also received two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards (including two Album of the Year awards) as well as four MTV Video Music Awards, an MTV Europe Music Award, three UK Music Video Awards and two Premio Ruido awards, among other things. Billboard has awarded her the Rising Star Award in 2019 for "changing the current music landscape with her flamenco-influenced pop"[18[18]. She was also the first Spanish-singing artist to be nominated for the Grammys for Best New Artist. Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. She was born into a family with no artistic heritage and is the youngest daughter of Pilar Tobella who runs a small family business that specializes in metalworks. Jose Manuel Vila, her father, was born in Cudillero. They separated in the year 2019. The older sister of Rosalia, Pilar Vila is born in 1989 is her stylist. Rosalia discovered her love for the performing arts as a child especially after discovering the discography of Camaron de la Isla. She began her musical training at the Taller de Musics [es]. She attended a six year course at the academy. She studied at the Raval School, then was transferred to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. Additionally, she was a soloist, singing at weddings and musical bars. In exchange, she was paid "a just a little over 80 euros" or in return for dinner.
